TATTOO DESIGN BOOK

The book was made as a personal project during illustration and graphic design studies. As I am a tattoo apprentice I was doing this for enhancing my illustration portfolio. My goal with this book was also to research different cultures and traditions of tattooing and read about different symbolics of different objects, feelings, nature etc. Also I would like to be able to get the best out of client's ideas and to be able to tell more about history and meaning of common and uncommon motives for tattoos.

HOUSEPLANT BOOK SOULS AT HOME

The book was made as a group project in 2021 with teammates Carol Soovik (book layout, text) and Ruth Moppel (text, patterns, binding). My part was the illustrations of the twelve plants that we chose. The purpose was to make a plant book that would provide the most important information about caring and propagating the plants, but also give a reader pleasant pictures to look at and take notes in the back of the book. In the end we made a print of the book and will continue with the production in 2022.

STORY OF PAUL AND SUSANNA

These illustration were made for Nyjaland Ehf, Iceland. Children book is talking about two young friends who explore nature of Iceland and learn how to heal through hands and good thoughts. It is light and easy to read and it is very personal story. The book will be printed during 2022 in A4 format, when text and layout editing will be complete. My work was only illustrations and vignettes for the book.

DRINK AND DRAW LATVIA

While my studies in Lativa I attended to very many Drink and Draw events. One event was a real luck for me as the organisers were looking for a drawing for the cider label and they chose one of my drawings. Label design was made by Murbudu Sidrs and the product photos were taken by Amanda Kadrā. Also, one drawing went for a T-shirt design as a personal request. My drawings were made on the customized background, usually splashes of paint added to paper with different materials for more interesting effects. Usually the drawing was made in 3-15 minutes.

D27 SERIES

This is the story of an abandoned house in Riga where I lived for two years while my studies in Art Academy of Latvia. The house was rented by organisation Free Riga, that cleaned and renovated empty houses and I had a chance to be part of one such house. I made small series of people in the house and later some of the illustrations were printed on postcards that could be purchased for the support of the organisation. This house was located on Dzirnavu 27 but now it is renovated and sold by the owner, Free Riga moved out in 2018.

BOOK COVERS FOR PUBLISHING HOUSE FANTAASIA

Estonian book publishing house Kirjastus Fantaasia ordered illustrations for two books for authors Jim Butcher and Triinu Meres. They use digital paintings for covers and the template for layout of the cover is made by them. I used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to complete these two drawings.
